Coloratura soprano Alicia Hurtado is known for bringing quirky depth to diverse characters through diverse mediums:

Alicia earned their master’s degree in vocal performance from The Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University, where they studied with international soprano Susan Elizabeth Futral. They received their bachelor’s in vocal performance from The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where they studied with renowned mezzo-soprano Sylvia Stone.

As a lover of all forms of storytelling, Alicia’s performance experience is as eclectic as it is prolific. Some favorite recent roles include Orgo/The Boy in Thompson Street Opera’s “The Boy Who Wanted to be a Robot” in Chicago, Clorinda in “Cenerentola” with Opera Modesto, Yniold in Opera Southwest’s “Pelléas et Mélisande” in Albuquerque, Leaf Coneybear in “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” with Landmark Musical Theatre in San Francisco, and Antonio/The Boy in “Bless Me, Ultima” and “Dulcinea” with Opera Modesto.
